History

Started in the 1960s as a Home Bible Study Group under the guidance and assistance of Rev. Moses Yu, Chinese Christian Fellowship held its first worship service in 1964 in the hall rented from Masonic Temple. In 1974, it formally changed its name to Mountain View Chinese Christian Church, and on December 8, 1996, MVCCC moved into its current facility. In 2006, after a two-thirds approval of the Board and Elders and a two-thirds approval of the membership meeting, Bay Area Chinese Christian Church was accepted as our branch church, in accordance with church’s constitution.

Today we are a predominantly second-generation Asian American congregation with a good mix of students (jr. high school and high school), young adults (college and working adults), young families (parents with infants and toddlers) and older families (parents of our college aged students).  We love the fact that we are an intergenerational Church Family and desire to meet the needs of people in every life stage.  Child care for infants is provided during Sunday Worship and Children's Worship occurs during our English service as well as afterwards during our Soul Care and Sunday School times.
